Bio-Oil includes the breakthrough ingredient PurCellin Oil, a recreation of the preen gland oil of ducks. During preening, a duck secretes oil from its preen gland and distributes it over its entire plumage in the familiar twisted-neck action that one often associates with ducks. This oil creates a thin, non-greasy layer on the surface of the feathers without which water would not pearl off and the bird would struggle to swim. I thought, no way can this stuff work. Well I was wrong. I had a sudden bloom of an age spot on my face, out of nowhere and quite sizable, too. Went to the dermatologist and it was fine but honestly, ugh. So I learned to live with it over the last 5 years or so. Occasionally I'd try all kinds of stuff on it and no luck.
I bought Bio Oil locally and started dabbing it on the spot, some minor crow's feet and "laugh lines" every night. Sometimes remembering to put it on twice. Well darn if that spot thing isn't fading after about 6 weeks. Not gone by any means but much less noticable even to my critical eye and the texture has greatly improved. I haven't seen any progress on the wrinkles but oh boo hoo about that. If it gets that dratted spot to fade away, then I'll be thrilled and call it a great success. I am very happy with this product.

I am a 40 year old female and have tried Bio-Oil for a period of 4 weeks so far applying twice a day. This oil is very light, pleasantly scented and doesn't make my face break out. I have very sensitive skin and skin allergies, but haven't had a single issue with Bio-Oil. The melasma around my jawline has faded considerably, the dry areas are smoothing out. My skin is very soft and smooth, and the oily sheen goes away in about 15 minutes or so. Two surprising benefits aside from the facial skin issues: My underarm had a deep scrape and since I heal slowly I tried Bio-Oil on it to help it heal. The area also has several old, white stretch marks around it, but after applying the oil twice a day for 7 days the deep scrape has healed faster than anything has ever healed on me in the past and I noticed that the stretch marks in that area are not as obvious or deep as the ones around it (where no Bio-Oil was applied). Another excellent benefit is when my little girl sunburned her face terribly (it peeled three times), the Bio-Oil accelerated the healing process on her face so much so that nearly overnight her skin showed obvious healing. Within 2 days she was healed with healthy, glowing skin after nearly a week of constant peeling and pain without the Bio-Oil. Even the uneven patches of darker skin that didn't peel evened out completely. Truly a miracle product!

The first few days of using this oil I noticed a difference, my skin felt smooth and looked even better under my foundation. However, it is a bit greasy feeling and it takes a while to absorb into the skin even using as directed. It smells great! I would purchase this oil again.
