Product Description
This makeup palette has highly pigmented shades, all shadows can also be applied wet for a deeper longer lasting effect. The compact case makes it easy for storing and traveling.
The case has a matte surface and measures 9" x 6.5" (23 cm x 16.5 cm) closed, The pots are Dime Size around and contain plenty of powder for many excessive uses.
The colors do not have a ton of shimmer in them if this is what you are looking for, you can always dust shimmer over top as I did in the above photo. It is nearly a 50/50 mix of matte and satin with slight shimmer.

When i found this pallet i was debating between this one and the Shany one. Im so glad i chose this one. The colors are very bright and vibrant. These colors stand out on thier own. However paired with Urban Decay's eye shadow primer potion these colors realy pop. Despite the dime sized colors a little goes along way. Dont dig in to these colors, a little swip will do just fine. This pallet is lovee and you cant beat the price so BUY BUY BUY! Oh and delivery was sooo fast i used my amazon prime next day shipping i was so happy when i saw it sitting on my porch. It arrived in loads of bubble wrap it was a pain ripping through it, however it protects your shadows from cracking. The case is so sleak, smooth, and pretty. I will deffinatly recomend to friends and buy again.

There are two common complaints about this palette, and I would like to explain how I solved them during my purchasing experience of with this product. The first complaint is that the eyeshadow (because it contains talc) is too chalky and difficult to apply. This problem is easily solved by changing the method by which you apply the eyeshadow. Before you begin, thoroughly clean your eyes, removing any hints of makeup or any oil that is on your lids. Both of these factors affect how smoothly the eyeshadow goes on. When your eyes are clean, it is important to apply an eyeshadow primer. I use either Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion (about $18), or L'Oreal De-Crease Eyeshadow Base ($7-$10). Not only does the primer help the shadow go on evenly, but it holds it onto your lids and prevents those terrible creases that you get by the middle of the day. Next, to apply the eyeshadow, you must use a synthetic brush--not a regular eyeshadow applicator. If you try to put on the shadow using the awful brushes that are included in the palette (my reason for deducting one star from the rating), you aren't going to get anything but a massive headache and a colorful mess all over your face. If you follow these steps, you should have a beautiful eye color. The other complaint is that there is not enough eyeshadow in each of the little trays. Once again, a typical eyeshadow applicator is not recommended with the product. Not only do we tend to dig too deeply and too roughly into the tray when we use an eyeshadow applicator, but they can lead to excess product on your face. If you use an eyeshadow brush, you should get even coverage, and since the brushes tend to pick up just enough product, it will make your shadow last longer. I only had two complaints about this palette. I normally use a great deal of the colors included in the palette, most often the black and various shades of brown, grey, purple, white,tan, and peach. Unfortunately, I have yet to find a use for the greens, blues, and bright pinks. The palette looks a bit awkward with so many used colors on the sides and the middle section completely untouched. However, because I do use so many of the colors, it saves money in the long run because I do not have to pay $5+ for each shade. Also, as I mentioned, the brushes that come with the product are terrible cardboard-esque tools that I threw into the trash immediately. If I had not already owned a set of Sigma brushes, my review would probably be a lot more critical. Before you make this purchase, you must realize that the Coastal Scents 88 Color Makeup Palette is not for everyone. These colors are very vivid, so if you are looking for shadow that is a bit more subtle, I do not advise you to buy this kit. Also, if you are someone who favors the same shade of shadow day in day out, this is not for you either. The Coastal Shades Palette is for those who love to change up their look each day. Some days, I like to do a nice smokey eye, other days I like to use the neutral shades, and some days I like to really experiment and use the brighter colors. Overall, if you love to change up your appearance and don't like wearing the same shade of eyeshadow everyday, I think you will be satisfied with this product.

After reading a lot of negative reviews on this product, and others like it, I decided to buy this item anyway and see how it works out for me. A lot of other users submitted photos of their eye shadow pallets being broken and such, but I ordered anyway.
I ordered on a Friday afternoon and received the item Monday at around 9 am. The item was packaged beautifully and there was absolutely nothing wrong with any of the colors; no cracks, breaks, powder all over the place. I'm very pleased with this product, and bundle monster did a great job packaging!
Although the eyeshadows are small, dime-sized, they are highly pigmented so you don't need a lot packed on the lid. It helps to use a primer, but I just use a foundation.
Overall great deal-I'm recommend to anyone!

I ordered this product on the 17th of July as a birthday gift to myself. I was excited to see that the shipping was moving along quickly, and and this morning I was thrilled to see the UPS man with my order (which I have been looking forward too all week.) But then the disappointment began. I opened the box and removed the bubblewrap, and noticed the outside box said "Warm Palette," which is the ONLY Coastal Scents palette that I did not want. I do not like warm colors. I did not buy warm colors. But somehow I wound up with them. Disheartened, I opened the box and pulled out my makeup, hoping that there must have been some sort of mistake and inside would be the correct palette that I had ordered. Silly me. Of course, there sat all 88 shades of makeup that will go unused. And to boot, dispite all the bubble wrap that they shipped it in to avoid just this, one of the colors had come loose and crumbled. Thanks for ruining my first Amazon.com experience. I will be returning this product. Maybe I will revise my review, and gear it towards the product itself when I actually get what I paid for.

The color outcome of these shadows are way better than the drugstore brands but it comes out looking too dry/chalky for my taste. Also, when I got this palette, one of the shadows broke and it left powder all over the inside and outside of the palette, I don't know if this is USPS' fault or if it was a faulty shadow but I was somewhat disappointed.
