 Very slow to shave September 4, 2010

I just want a razor that worked, this seems to fit the bill okay -- does a decent job. I had a braun, and it started tugging the crap out of my hair, even with a new blade replacement. This razor doesn't tug or get caught, but you have to go very slowly around and over multiple times to get all the hair.

Very slow to shave

Tough to get tight spaces

The 6940 would get a 2 star rating from me, and is clearly not on the same level as the 7340. If you're on a budget I'd still pass on the 6940. The extra few dollars is well worth the upgrade to the 7340. My face was really soar with the 6940, but not with the 7340. The upgraded heads on the 7340 made a huge difference. Another bummer with the 6940 is the short cord... even though the 7340 is cordless, the charging cord is longer on the 7340 and a bit too short for the fixed corded 6940.
Both sound much more quite then my older Norelcos I had. The quite sound makes it seem like they are slow, but don't let that fool you the 7340 works great. I also recommend spending the couple of extra dollars over the other 7310XL and get the better heads. I believe that is the only difference besides color between those two.
Overall I think the 7340 has worked out great, and is the best overall value Norelco Shaver. I've had it for over a month and it still has only been charged once. I've used it nearly every day and have thick and quick growing hair.

My husband loves his new razor! He says that it works great and saves him a lot of time. It was his first real razor, so we have nothing to compare it to, but nonetheless, he would recommend it.

I have been a satisfied Norelco user for many years. This shaver is very quiet. Great battery life. Extremely close shave. The washable head is a significant improvement over my previous model. My only gripe is not with the shaver itself, but with the excessive price of the replacement heads.

I was surprised at how light and quiet this Norelco 7340 men's shaver is. It also cuts close and efficiently and can be cleaned with water. My only complaint is that the blade guard doesn't clip low enough to prevent the head from springing up to disgorge its hairy contents in transit. It did this once in my travel bag, so now I just empty it of hair whenever I travel.
