Customer Reviews: Cost Cutting, Not Hair.August 8, 2010 M. Marks(Up North, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Bought the 79900B from Target to replace my aging 79300 color coded one. The new clipper had a very cheap, hollow feel to it. My older clipper felt much more substantial. The reason I gave it one star is because of the "tines". They are razor sharp and if you shave a no guard up the back of your neck (or beard), it digs right into your neck and actually hangs up on the skin. It literally can draw blood. I never had this problem with my precious Wahl. The 79900B has been returned.
Not a durable productJune 16, 2010 E. Lee(Texas) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I purchased the Wahl clippers to replace our Vidal Sassoon clippers that came without a #3. The Wahl has lots of attachments that allow for helpful flexibility for ear trimming etc. I also liked the flip out trimmer on the back so that I wouldn't have to use my husband's electric razor for sideburns, etc. I've been cutting my boys' hair at home for 8 years, but the Wahl clipper blades rusted in less than a year. I only clean them with the brush provided and add the lubricating oil as recommended. The rust diminished the effectiveness of the clippers. I've switched back to the VS unit, even though I'd still like to upgrade.
